Consumerism! The Musical

Alright got my phone back yesterday. They only had it for a month and didn't phone me to pick it up. So no obselet(sp?) but reliable loaner. Back to the new but finicky phone again.
It's like getting your Ford GT back from the dealer after driving a reliable Ford Focus for a month.

First, thanks to everyone who came out last night. It really meant a lot to me, and, no worries, I'll be back before you know it.

Now, on to more important things. I should have plugged this earlier, but I various things (sleeping, packing, eating, guys saying "Look, over there!") distracted me. On CBC tonight (in about 10 minutes), Test the Nation is on. I normally wouldn't care, but this is the special that involved my brother being flown down to Toronto to tape this last March.

It's also the reason he's quoted in today's Journal saying "[English teachers are] the guardians of the English language."

I can't wait to see that come back and bite him on the ass.

Hey all - the tutoring place I am working for is looking for people to teach English and ESL classes on Saturdays. We are open 9:30-4 though you'd have a say in exactly when and how many hours you teach. I don't know a lot about the new program that we are using this year, but last year's was really good - lessons were practically planned for you. The kids are good and you'll only have 2-3 at a time. If any of you with a B.A. or B.Ed are interested, or know someone who is, let me know! Pay is $15/hour plus $1/hour per finished degree.

that's a very good question, that I think should be left up to someone else answering... mostly because I don't know it, I just know where to drive!

I'm acutally disappointed. I want to go grocery shopping, but now I can't drive! I guess I need to plan these things better... no going out with my lab and then all the grad students (and randomly meeting up with former classmates that buy you beverages) when you want to DO stuff in the evening...



slowly... I'll sober up... but, as Jesse pointed out, not in time for DVAS... and maybe not even in time for groceries :( hopefully in time to get some supper into me though.
