Sorry top hear about all that hassel Alison.
I experianced some Telus hassel yesterday as well. The service center would send my phone in to get reflashed for the software but would not replace it. Their new policy is to fix software only, replacements only happen for renewal of contracts or if you buy a new handset. They then wouldn't give me a loaner so I had to go back to the store that I bought my handset at to get a loaner. Unfortunately no retailer ever gives a loaner. I was basically given the run around. This was the Calgary trail Telus store. The Southgate location is much better, they'll actually give you a loaner even if you haven't got your handset from them though they did misplace my phone for almost 2 months...
Moral of the story: It's the people that make the company and certain locations just have better people. Unfortunately this still doesn't fix Telus' incompatance.

so... apparently they've been providing me with internet service since the 9th... I just can't connect... and I've tried all the phone jacks in the house that I can find...
somebody's coming over tomorrow. If they do the "sorry we don't know what's wrong" thing the guy on the phone did to me today (granted, for my hour of conversation, he did do everything he seemed to be able to do to help me), I'll get really angry... and then I'll switch.
my modem functioned for all of a minute, and then the guy on the phone told me I had to shut it off and reboot... and then it never worked again, no matter what combination of connections, cables and jacks I used...
on the plus side, I get five bars of connection between my computer and modem via wireless, it just doesn't go anywhere!
next time, I'm going with Shaw.

Also, really short notice: Bad Movie, Jere & Dana's, 9:30. Apologies for aforementioned short notice.

Anyone interested in camping next weekend, the 21st?
Leave Friday night, come back Sunday afternoon.
Campfire, marshmallows, swimming, drinking, burgers/hotdogs, frisbee and all that good stuff...
I don't really want to go alone, but you know... I will if I have to :)

according to the conference call on the oilers website, his wife is actually ok with the city and doesn't mind coming here because she's familiar with what she's getting in the city.

Those numbers were about $1M per year less than I was expecting. I guess both sides were settling on this one. Given that I heard about the signing and then heard the terms, I'm not disappointed. (I mean, it's less than they offered Nylander.)
Still waiting for a first-line to magically appear. It's still going to be a long year (especially if he repeats that -28 from last year).
My favourite part of all this is the one sentence post at CinO: "He's divorced, right?"
(We've been suckered into these 5-year defenceman contracts before...)

Paras - I knew you were going to say that. I'm trying!!!!! I knew I was in trouble when the printer troubleshooting started suggesting that I just turn everything off, then back on, and seeing if that helped. My solution: use the printer at work.
Alison - I would be very very surprised if Telus didn't provide that service in your area. Matt got it at his old place in Parkallen. I think we just got ours right away because they were a week late connecting us in the first place, disconnected the phone number when they promised to keep a voicemail account on it, and billed us for 10 days of phone that we didn't get. And because Matt had given them hell about it. But you should call them if it's already been 5 days. So far, the only people worse than Telus has been EPCOR. Don't even get me started on EPCOR.
