The future sounds a lot like the present. That's kind of disappointing.

Music site Last.fm bought by CBS:

The firm's president and CEO Leslie Moonves said: "Last.fm is one of the fastest growing online communities out there."

He said Last.fm's strength in building communities around music and syndicating content was "central to CBS".

He added: "Their demographics also play perfectly to CBS's goal to attract younger viewers and listeners across our businesses."

The response at Digg is as reasoned as ever:
Oh goody. Will CBS insert the FUBAR stick into Last.fm, give it a good twist and balls it up good and proper? Probably, very probably. Big Media + New Idea + cash = FUBAR

aww, thanks guys!

the future, um... is full of sunshine and mosquitoes...
how's that Par?

I'm stealing internet at the hotel, currently. It's fantastically sunny out still, with the sun only setting around 10pm. I wish I wasn't here to do work, but instead to enjoy the endless daylight. It's fantastic!

oh... cake... I have cake somewhere... I packed it... hmm

see y'all some time in June.

Am I the only one who was annoyed at first blush by the LOLCat thing, let alone all the inane spinoffs and related internet idiocy? I mean, once it's gotten to the point of a facetious programming language, surely even "LOL" itself has become nauseating, hasn't it?

What's better than spending a few days by the lake, away from the city, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire and having a few drinks? Doing it with friends of course!

That's right, camping season is in full swing. We're going camping this coming weekend to Twin Lakes (a little over an hour away). Leaving Friday night, coming back Sunday. Let me know if you're interested in coming.

w00t, I've finally found a good version of the newest doctor who theme song without the annoying bbc voice over. This is the absolute best tv theme song ever... even moreso than the A-Team theme.

I'll keep it here for a while if anybody else would like to indulge.

And, since you're probably reading this later in the week, what's the future like??
