okay, I know this is a case of me only seeing my side of things... but how did you pick a name before you've seen your darling baby? i'm pretty sure i'd have to see the tyke before i figured out what their name was... and I existed as "Baby" for four days after my birth... so I know I'm not the only one who thinks like that. (actually, being a preemie, I don't know for sure, maybe they would've come up with a name in that last month... who knows)

I'm just curious. I don't think there's anything wrong with it (just so the record's set straight from the beginning), I just don't think I could do it.



oh, and yeah, blue is great, I just thought I'd give you the option of whatever colour, in case you were dead set against a blue boy blanket or whatever... I'll take a look around at the yarn shops and see what looks good and aquatic.

As we are 99.8% sure it's a boy and our nursery is under the sea themed which has a lot a blue in it, blue would be a great choice. However if you really don't want to make a blue blanket the bedding in the nursery has a lot of orange, yellow and green in it. So any of those colours are good. We aren't picky, well about colours that is, every one knows I am actually very picky about everything else. I'm sure Nicholas (Keri-Matt 2.0) will love whatever colour you use. But thank you very much for the thought.

reCAPTCHA. Now this is a cool idea. Rather than wasting all the energy people use deciphering CAPTCHAs (those images of distorted letters that websites use to ensure you're human), a group at Carnegie Mellon is trying to put that deciphering power to good use.

Essentially, the images they're displaying are portions of physical books that are in the process of being digitized. These are segments that are difficult for computers to decipher, but easy for humans to decipher. So the website in question gets the same quality test, while the reCAPTCHA project is helped along in its quest to digitize collections.

That's ingenious.
