ICC is "Integrated Clinical Clerkship". Which means, I'll spend 8 months in a rural hospital/clinic setting. Congrats are a bit early, I think. Party as well. Perhaps in September, when this is a bit more tangible. (I don't even know for sure that Hinton's where I'll end up.)
I like this info, though. 14 doctors and 3 surgeons (not sure if those numbers overlap) and 21 beds at the hospital. Two clinics (I assume that means one Hill and one Valley). And just under 10000 people who will find out all about the two new med students in town (although I imagine they serve more people than that in the surrounding area.) w00t.

But don't you understand, alison? The problem wasn't the gunman's access to guns. The problem was that there weren't enough guns on the campus.

What's ICC? And how come you're going to Hinton and a girl I know is coming to Ottawa's eye institute for 2 weeks in August? Congrats Par! Going away to study for a bit is fantastic!

"The president believes that there is a right for people to bear arms, but that all laws must be followed,"
oh W. what are you going to come up with next?
i'm so glad you don't see your country's weapons policy as at all relating to school shootings.
or am i just bitter? damn, my cousin's in CT, and he said there are guns everywhere... and people firing them like they're cowboys in the wild west... and assaults all the time... and accidental firings... and not-so-accidental firings...

Email received today:
Hi, thanks for your application to the ICC beginning this fall. I realize it has been an at times agonizingly slow process. Thanks for persisting with it and your thoughtful application.
All eight students have been accepted into the ICC for next fall. I hope you
got the word through Glenn.
We are still sorting out locations and pairings but you should know that
pending someone changing their mind, you should each get your first or
second choice of location with the person you seemed to sort yourself with
around the interview time.
Sounds like I'm spending eight months in a rural hospital/clinic setting starting in September (most likely Hinton). Should prove to be... a unique experience.
