Sorry Par, I knew it before you made it public knowledge... it's all mine.
Seriously, I'm calling tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that, Alison. It's really cool that your dean got involved with the students like that. I wish I could say the same about either of my deans.
On a somewhat related note, for those who care, Medshow has officially been cancelled (at least for this year). Apparently, they felt it was too controversial and too much of a liability. (It's somewhat related because the new dean of medicine was not a fan of the show.)
"... complaints against any individual student could lead to the elimination of your educational license and thus remove your ability to graduate with a Doctor of Medicine. These risks are serious and real. Weighing the pros and cons, clearly, medshow came up a bit short."
And, completely unrelated, if someone's gonna be near a phone and a radio around 8:30 tomorrow morning, can you do me a favour and win $1000? Sonic sent out the clip for their thousand-dollar modern rock door in their gleemail and it's mind-blowingly easy. So all you have to do is call them up when they ask you to call, and say "American Idiot by Green Day". I'll split it with you 50-50. And... go!

Alison your dean died in a riding accident last week. My sister told me a while ago, I thought you already knew so I never brought it up. That is all.

mortality sucks
uh, apparently I am mildly (and morbidly) psychic. I think of random people I haven't seen in a long time, and then read about them in the obituaries a few days later (this has happened a few times now too). The dean of my faculty (when I was there) passed away 'tragically' (they won't say more) on Sunday, at the age of 58.
And I know, most of you wouldn't really miss a beat, the deans of most faculties don't get to know their students. But Dr. Morrison was different. He was hands-on. he had the student groups out to his acreage every year for a bbq, and each spring, he came out to field school and bought pizza and beer for everyone, among all the other things he did for us. Additionally, at convocation, I got to take a picture with him (woo!) and while he was shaking my hand on stage, he told me he wished more students were like me. It's difficult to cry while working at the Big Red Triangle... fuck. Anyway, I guess I'll go to his funeral. He deserves to have a packed house remembering him. It still feels like some sick joke though. A healthy man, just retired from being dean, and returning to teaching, loved life, was active... and now is gone. He was one of those people that other people wish they could be like.

AHHHHHHH! BOOOOOOOO!
Well, I tracked that gangster game down and found one more:
Mobstar claims to be the first ever gangster themed MMORPG that has a free version and a pay version. The free version offers the "basics" but you have to pay to be able to kill other players, steal cars, and a other things. Really...paying to kill? That doesn't fire up the soul.
Omerta is the free game I stumbled onto. Though you can only choose to start from either the U.S. or Italy, the kill feature is open to all. I think it would be a good idea to try Omerta out first. We should try to figure out which city we want to start in and go from there.
