actually, Alison; on my new LCD monitor, certain colours look "raised" on the screen especially against a black background. I can't explain the physics behind this phenomenon, but I've been pondering it for some time. I'll let you know when I figure out why this happens.

um, thanks Jess. in doing a rather brief inventory, I'm not sure that I can come up with an answer to your question. in fact, I truly don't know if there is a part of me that always works. excellent.

I'm super glad Belle's doing okay. I hope you were able to sleep the night too, because I can imagine it'd be difficult to do much else other than listen to her troubles. Give her a hug for me, k?

Belle lived through the night and is totally fine today. Yay! So I gave her a bath . . . ha ha ha! It's really bad when she has nights like that - she pants and wheezes and sneezes and shivers and drools. But like I said, it happens about once a month, but otherwise isn't a problem at all. And it doesn't seem to be related to either the weather or to how much exercise she's had in the previous few days. Very weird.

Also, I locked my keys in my car today (not good) so I had an excuse to skip my class (good). I've become distressingly absent-minded. Last Thursday some guy stopped at my house to return my wallet - which I hadn't noticed I was missing.

I didn't watch the debate last night, which makes this the first election I've been able to vote in that I haven't watched the debate. Apathy, here I come (am). I have been contacted by three potential MPs (actually, people working for the potential MPs) for my riding - the Liberal, NDP and Green candidates'. Guess Jaffer isn't worried about not winning. Guess he really doesn't have to be. Stupid Alberta.

And I need to go grocery shopping as there is nothing in my house to eat for dinner.

Alison - Never happened to me. Is there any part of your body that always works?

just wanna say that that four-eyed face really doesn't bother me. sometimes I see double all on my own, so that wasn't all that new for me. ... what does that make me though? is there some way to fix seeing double? because i'm not cross-eyed... so what could be causing it?

meh, whatever, I'll live with it, it's been no big deal thus far (up until lately, where seeing red has become a problem too - anyone else see one colour as being far more 'close' to you than any of the others? like it's 3-D? or is that just me?) stupid eyes.

Harper invokes the name of René Lévesque here. Political firewood in Quebec.

Invoke... funny word... kinda like summon. Maybe Harper can tap two water to summon up some Mystic Denial over the invoking of René Lévesque.

Damnit. I had all but resolved to pick up a 12" Powerbook this summer, when Apple goes ahead and releases this:

MacBook Pro

Sure, it costs $500 more than the Powerbook I was looking at. But it has two processors! And a remote!

In truth, I am a little torn, because it's got the Intel chips that Apple has switched to (and I don't really want to be stuck with the IBMs if they decide to stop supporting it), but also because they give no specs on battery life for the MacBook. For me, battery life has become a very important feature. I'm sick of having two-ish hours on a charge, and I know the Powerbook can go up to 5.

Of course, this all hangs on me having an extra two grand lying around come summer. (C'mon gullible iftv sponsors!)

Question about the debate: Did Harper say (prior to the debate) that he admired Rene Levesque, and was inspired by his example? Duceppe seemed to say so, and Harper didn't deny it. Oughtn't that be a bigger deal than they made it out to be?

Sorry to hear that, Jess. Isn't tomorrow (or sometime soon) Belle's lucky 13th?

Nancy Grace on the Colbert Report:

Colbert: You've been critical of defense attorneys-
Grace: Yes, I have.
C: - and I couldn't agree with you more. I don't understand; by the time somebody's arrested, they're probably guilty.
G: Are you mocking me? Are you mocking me?! You're mocking!
C: Are you suggesting that I don't mean what I say?
Haha. Pure gold.
