hmm... Hinton's quite nice. You hardly even notice the odour fo the mill, and after a while, the train sounds almost romantic - though too close nonetheless.

Let's see, what's happened so far is more or less this: We're living in a dorm with mostly male residents... some quite nice too (they're all mostly either wildland firefighters or EMTs in training). The quebecois cook is really nice (and really trying to hit on me), has fed us great food, and has decided to help me speak better French (so if I don't screw this up, the food will continue to be good, and I'll be semi-bilingual by the end of the summer). Work is very isolated, if things go wrong, I think we're basically fucked, but it's beautiful country, and we're carrying a satellite phone and GPS unit with us (which my boss likes to turn off to save batteries, and doesn't know how to work properly), so safety is still okay. Wildlife sightings remain in the innocuous category of birds and deer, here's hoping it stays that way. mmm berries! oh, and I almost fudged data today... not a good sign for someone planning on doing a masters!

again, if you're coming to the Hinton/Jasper area, drop me an e-mail and I'll try to meet up with you somewhere. (alison_lennie@yahoo.ca)

Happy belated b-day, Tony, by the way.

And yet again, I find that I have made a post only to return to the site and see that no such post exists.

Anyway, I made a post about this thing I found on the internet where a "rubber girl" is simulated falling from the sky and hitting bubbles on the way down. It's totally weird and you can check it out here.

There, hopefully it doesn't disappear again.

Tay thanks for those MP3s, I need a ton to make flash animations. I don't think you want to hear the same song over and over again.

Russian technology brings you brazillions (almost literally) of mp3s for your downloading pleasure. There's a lot of shit in there, but you can sift through it and find some good stuff. There's a helluva lot of Bjork to be had in there for instance.
