Man, the hype around the Locust is ridiculous these days. That's all I hear anymore. I swear everywhere I've gone in the last 5 days somebody's asked me "Have you heard the locust yet!?!!"

And no, Lightning Bolt isn't biting their costumes; they don't even wear costumes... the drummer wears a mask sometimes which keeps his fucked-up mic on his mouth... but that's about it.

Man, the Locust just got all their concepts from the Boredoms anyways... all these new hardcore/noise-core bands like Pink and Brown, Lightning Bolt, and even Black Dice were influenced by them. I've been preaching the good Boredoms word for a long time now... and for good reason! They've been doing this shit since the 80s! It's old news already. Even Nirvana was all about the Boredoms... that's half the reason they got signed in the states in the first place.

So yeah. I recommend everyone check out the Boredoms... and their sort-of sister-band OOIOO. And if you like that shit, check out John Zorn who in turn influenced the Boredoms. Gotta represent the noisecore roots!

I don't know much about certified data built computers, but in general it all depends on what's in the case. The advantage of buying a premade PC is that "theoretically" everything inside should work perfectly fine, in terms of compatability and such. On the flipside, sometimes there are problems with upgrading, (like with Dell computers, they're a nightmare to upgrade yourself) But like you said if you're looking for something that just runs and won't fall appart, it should be ok.

However, you gotta be weary since sometimes they put together some POS computers with really good parts but they're abilities are nerfed by really bad parts. Personally, I'd spend the time to put together your own (that is, if you had the time to do it). Save money, know what goes in, and it's good experience. Draw back is that you're your own tech support... and that part sucks sometimes.

hey, does anybody know if computers made by certified data are alright? I mean, I know that they're not the top of the line, but if I were to buy a computer made by someone like certified, what sort of consequences would I be paying for in the long run? Would it just slow down a lot over time, or would it start to fall apart, or something else. London Drugs sells a lot of their stuff, and everything I've ever bought from LD has been good, and some of the Certified Data computers come with a free wireless router, which would be nice to have in the future.
