Right, Percy, like I'm gonna fall for that one.

Super Mario Reloaded, a vast improvement on the Matrix Reloaded.

yeah, mine ends on the 20th,
but I have a fairly early exam schedule

There's a guy talking on his cell phone so loudly
holy crap. Everyone in the room can hear him...
and every time he talks on his phone he does the same thing...
    different days, differnt months...
perhaps he can't hear very well,
or perhaps he thinks talking loud will make the person on the phone hear him better...
    freakin' annoying.

Has anyone checked their exam schedule yet?

Mine is April 19,20,21,22 at 9,2,9,9 respectively.

For some reason it feels like a very late exam schedule - not that I'm complaining

wasn't expecting that from you, Face. (not that you're not capable, just didn't expect it)

But you're right, Tooker Gomberg was always bandied as a left wing nut by the "mainstream" press.
And yet he's the only councillor that I know of who actually did something productive in his time.
He created the then "costly and absurd", but now incredibly useful BUSLINK program among other initiatives.

The environmental community, along with countless others, really do miss him.

he worked for change, and stayed true to his ideals
although he eventually fell into the burnout he fought so hard for others to overcome
SEE magazine had some awesome stuff on him too shortly after his passing.
check here and here for more on him.

Speaking of SEE, Bob is officially gone.
They opted not to show him killing a dog and Bob moved to Vue.
just in case you're wondering where your regular dose of Bob the Angry Flower went to.

I thought it was appropriate that the "unbiased" (relatively speaking) indymedia.org had an article on Tooker Gomberg in his passing; our more 'mainstream' media sources distorted all perception of him in his life. I really didn't have much of an opinion on him while he was on council since the only exposure I had to him was his tongue-in-cheek comment that "we'll freeze the city's roads and we can all ice-skate to work". The media made it sound like he was serious, so I really didn't know what to think. But in unfortunate hindisght it has come to my attention that he did a good number of wonderful things for this city, albeit his means of convincing were often controversial at best.

Whether or not you agreed with his ideas, I think we can all recognize that he was a man who fought by 'whatever means necessary' to work towards something he truly believed in. If that's not living honourably, I don't know what is. It's a shame that he didn't think he'd ever see his work come to fruition... which is purported to be what led him into his ever-downward spiral into depression which ultimately took his life.

In rememberance of Mr. Gomberg I encourage all of you to strive to live your life as dedicated to your principles (whatever they may be) as he did. I know I'm late by a long-shot; but may his soul rest forever in peace.

The short article I was referring to can be found here: www.indymedia.org.

ARGH. I'm sitting in the dark in a computer lab at the UofA. My assignment is 80% complete and I don't feel like doing it anymore. But I HAVE TO. There's a good show at the PowerPlant right now... and some of my friends are there... and I really REALLY REALLY want to go. But I must finish this ASSignment. ASSignment. Get it? Kuz it's ass.

okay. I'm gonna go finish it now. I'm hungry. How am I gonna get home? When do the buses stop coming? I'm screwed.
