so really, the whole disassemble-reassemble trick is unimaginative and cliche,
    why bother anymore?
You engineers need to think of more things to do than just the same old "standard" trick

And actually, Par, it's NOT an April Fools joke
(unless it's being played on all of the UofA)
They seriously are taking pictures of the "R" in Quad on Thursday, honest.
I'm going to be there for both the 1 and 3pm photos.
    It's a no-obligation action.
You just stand in the shape of an "R" and they take the picture
from some sort of building (probably CAB)

It's an R, even if it is a prank, there'll be enough people there
that it won't matter too much and the picture of the R can be used elsewhere.
jeeze, get over it, Paras! ;P

oh shit, I have a grad speech to write for Saturday... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
and A paper, and a Procite research program to do and some serious studying
and the organizatio of a reference notebook and a 15 minute presentation
and I couldn't do anything on Saturday or Sunday last weekend so now I'm even more behind.

Here is a April Fools joke to play on someone. Disassemble a car and rebuild it in someones office. We bored out of or mind engineers have done this to our dean several times before.

Al, I don't think we notice what time you post. Hence, it could not possibly be weird (unless you're talking about Alison, for whom everything is weird.)

Alison, I'm not gonna fall for your obvious and obviously lame April Fools' Joke. I'm going back to counting down to the planetary alignment that will cause a decrease in gravity.

Also, Procite.com might be a good place to start with that. They even have a Manual(.pdf). Of course, I got this interesting error when searching their database:

    Error Detected By ROFM CGI

    Database "PC_TS.fp3" is not available.

    Error Number

    -2700

HaHa, irony! (Insert impression of Phil Ken Sebben here)

Oh yeah, and Percy, check out this Firebird Extension. I think you might enjoy it. (Don't worry, it's a real link. Click on link properties if you don't believe me.)

    hey,

does anyone here know how to create and use a database on Procite?
I understand what to do with the stuff, but I can't open a freakin' database that isn't read only.
    help!

it's gotta be "fourty" in the UK... somewhere!
That's the one word I always get wrong.
a-ha! in Afrikaans, it works just fine!
but yeah, you're right, I spelled forty wrong in just about every English available.

anyway, welcome back to the warm prairie, Par!
(actually... Aspen parkland/boreal convergence zone... sorry! too much ecol theory)
Hope your trip was fun! or successful or something positive.

as for April Fools... that's pretty serious.
why not just steal his office chair or something?

oh, heh, speaking of April 1st (AKA April Fools' Day),
Ecos is trying to get a whole bunch of people out in to Quad that afternoon
around 1 and 3, if you can come out, please do.
we're making an "R" for a postcard campaign to send to Paul Martin.
    Part of "C-L-E-A-N--E-N-E-R-G-Y"
and all the other letters are being done on other campuses across Canada.
