Hey Pete, and thanx for pointing that site out... had some fun adding stuff :)

Just hopefully I didn't screw anything over... took me a while to figure out what I was doing...
might have messed with with power usage settings.....

Hey Pete, I know a decent amout about the NetMDs so here it goes...

Anyhow, the easiest way for you to get the songs onto your MD is to:

    1. Use the OpenMG program that came with the MD (NetMD)
    2. Analogue recording from the computer (using, for example, Winamp /w MD plugin)
    3. Burn the discs with your brother's player and use them on your MD

Since I know #1 doesn't apply to you, and you're probably doing #2, #3 would be the best one.
However... I don't clearly know the issues in terms of back compatability since each MD version
    uses a different version of ATRAC3 encryption. Mine's Type-R, Scott's is Type-S. There's also the
issue where if you put the song on the MD using a program, such as OpenMG, the song is write
protected on the disc, so you can't delete it unless you're using a computer with OpenMG. (There's
some other issues with deletion, song copies, and other stuff but they're relatively easy to work
around). On the sites you linked two, those firmware hacks would work with the supposedly
encryption issue, but each of those models have a USB connection. Unless you get another MD, you're
gonna have to do #2, or #3 (if it works at all) but there's no harm in trying... just that you'll
need his player to make any deletions do the disc (you should be able to edit the playlist and song
    titles still, I think...)

So yeah, there a bit for you...

Oh, and BTW, Paras nice background, but it would be nice to be able to read what everyone's said...

ok first off, scott (or anyone else): You said that you found a good program to transfer songs from mp3s on the computer to your minidisc, could you post a link as to where I can get the program. My bro has a net MD and I think I will be buying one in the near future, so it owuld be nice to have good software instead of that shitty sony stuff.

Also, the reason that I want to get a new MD is that my current one is a piece of shit that barely works anymore, but in my travels I came across this site, which has lots of sweet information on various minidiscs and accessories. In addition to all the typical stuff, I discovered this, and other pages like that one dedicated to providing hacks and service manuals for your MD. So if you own an md, you'd best check this out, you could repair your md instead of those fuckers at sony (who might I add can fix a cat, let alone an md) or just find some useful hacks to improve your md.

as is not going to mention the bizarre new look

So I was having a conversation with Beck that involved the verb "MacGyver'd". Naturally I looked it up at Urban Dictionary. Curious, I decided to look up "Paras" (me and my massive ego.) I was shocked to find Paras defined as "Forrest dumbshit." Of course, I told Beck, and he enjoyed it, so I turned the tables and looked up "Beck." Two interesting definitions were there:

    Beck
    "b-ec-k"

geordie word for a scruffy, dirty or unkempt person, a minger

    Beck
    "b-ec-k"

    A useless, hopeless, smelly Canadian.

Finally, because this is how my mind works, I looked up the final link in the Indian-Hobo-Nun Triumvirate:

    Jere
    "b,itch"

    see bitches

Needless to say, my faith in the internet is restored.

    What: A Party!

There’s going to be a pumpkin carving contest, so bring a pumpkin. I’ll have some, but probably not enough for everyone. Also if people could bring newspapers, that’d be great, because I don’t want to run out. Prizes!

I’d also like to have a fire, if it’s not too freaking cold, so bring a jacket, hat, whatever you need to not complain.

When: October 31, 9:30 pm. If you really want to come early, feel free, I’ll be passing out candy.

Who: You! Also, I don’t have everyone’s email addresses, so if you notice someone missing, please forward it to them. Or if there’s someone you really want to bring, feel free.

Where: My house, if you don’t know where it is, email me or ask someone who does.

Why: ‘Cause it’s Halloween. Which means you have to dress up. Prizes! If you don’t have a costume, come in your pajamas. Unless you sleep nude, no one wants to see that.

How: (aka Other Stuff) BYOB. Anyone who needs to stay over is welcome to.

Yeah... if you follow the links it should lead you to the anomalies section which is the better part - and no 404 errors as far as I encountered. There's a bunch of other different stories that are quite interesting.

That's a great link, Beck. I read the thing about the Missing Romanov's. Not only do they first go over all the reasons why there aren't any Romanov descendents (through all the cases), the third page in the story (which presumably contains "evidence" for why there are descendents) is curiously missing (good ole Error 404). Perhaps the Bolsheviks are not quite defeated in their plot to keep this secret... Bwahahahaha(and so on...)!
